Nevis Design Consultants were awarded Best Corporate Identity at the Scottish Design Awards 2010 with Rutland Hotel.
Taking place at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow on Friday 28th May, the 'Best Corporate Identity' award now sits with the clean sweep of awards for the agency in the last twelve months, one of which being a Design Effectiveness Award.
Using 'irreverence', 'intelligence' and 'stylish' as key stimuli, creative copy lines were devised and featured across all hotel and bar communication materials. The identity itself is a contemporary rendering of a traditional-style signature R, and there has also been a sub-brand developed for The Late Lounge, The One Below.
David Huckell, Design Director, commented on accepting the award that "we wanted to challenge preconceptions of The Rutland Hotel, there is always a new venue opening in Edinburgh, we chose to make this different using tone of voice, the key to communicating 'The Most Exciting and Elegant New Venue in Town'".
Nevis Design were also nominated for their work on the recently re-launched Glen Garioch Single Malt Whisky in the packaging category.
